What is Sound Therapy?
In a nutshell, it is using sonic frequencies, rhythm & reflection to improve health & wellbeing. The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) method involves playing instruments in specific ways to create an opportunity for deep relaxation. The reflection part of it is using a model called 'The Cooper Sax '5Rs' Model of Experiential Processing', or the '5Rs', which helps us to become aware of & work through our human experience.
What is Holistic Voice Therapy?
There are two main ways of working, passively & actively. Passively is when the client lies down & receives the sounds of my own instrument, the voice, enabling them to relax deeply. Working actively, means using various exercises & techniques with a mix of breathwork, movement, visualisation & voice. The '5Rs' model of reflection is again included. BAST has been researching & refining these methods since 1996.
